However, I am already one year into my seminary journey, and that journey will end this coming May. Therefore, I feel as if I have the advantage of having a good feel for what seminary involves, and what to expect from it, in order to answer yet another important question: Some may view that as a truly frightening question. It relates to the beginning question, in my mind: With Christ, we cannot fail. Seminary is the particular time in life, however, to learn so much more than church history and biblical interpretation.

It is the time, through a variety of means, to build such a dynamic faith that, when I exit seminary, I have the close relationship with God it takes that, after many hours spent in conversation with Him, and growing closer to Him, I know He is such a part of myself that I am equipped with the courage, boldness, and strength it takes to be a part of something much bigger than myself. As of now, my BHAG involves many things outside of my comfort zone. I will just be starting out in full-time ministry when I complete my program, and it truly feels as if the sky is the limit.

Specifically, however, the BHAG I have in mind ultimately results in me serving in a pluralistic setting as a healthcare chaplain, specifically in a hospital or hospice setting. I want to continue to teach Sunday School, participate in music ministry both of which I have been doing , and live a life that, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, I am on fire for the Lord and doing everything I can in my human capacity with His help to make sure I never pass up an opportunity to witness to somebody.

Growing closer to Him, and seeking Him every minute of the day, is a lifelong process. As I consider where I am in my journey of building dynamic faith right now, and where I want to be at the end of seminary, the first thing that comes to mind is one specific idea: I was one of the church kids, in fact, who had grown up in the nursery, and I made the choice to allow Jesus to radically change my life at the tender age of six. Although my life has been nowhere near perfect, and I have made my fair share of mistakes, I have had the advantage of knowing God throughout my 25 years of life so far.

However, especially in the last part of , until the end of , I was in a very toxic environment, which led to some pretty serious sins, involving the addiction of an eating disorder that could have easily overtaken my life. I am truly convinced that, though I knew God, I was allowing the earthly environment I was surrounded by to cloud my vision in terms of knowing who I am in Him, and the eating disorder crippled me.

Throughout the course of this year, though, I have developed such a passion I truly am zealous for studying His Word daily, and not just studying it, but truly digesting it. It absolutely is as sweet as honey, as so many parts of the Bible claim. I could easily write a book on how faithful God has been to me in my young life so far, and how much closer, and more intimate, I have truly been blessed with Him this year.

The adventures of a champion for Christ!

There are just really no words to express how much my life has changed, since I began seminary. As God has used me this year to help several of my loved ones through difficult times just this past week, a childhood friend I knew from church was brutally murdered by her boyfriend in a murder-suicide , the weight of the world has felt like it was crushing me.

He is the source of comfort, and refreshment, however, and as I continue through the journey of seminary and then apply the knowledge accumulated in seminary to real life , I am putting the strategy in place to call on Him at all times.
