Soul of Serpents

They are well thought out and well told for the most part. Demon Souled was arguably very well written and proofread. The story was in depth and without a doubt very well thought out. I have read the entire series before posting a review so I could review the entire series instead of just one book. I will copy and paste to the other versions as well. As stated Demon Souled was well written and proofread. Overall I read it all and was able to delve into the story, however the poor proofreading and grammar in some situations caused an interruption in the story.

As I was reading I would stop confused and then realize he mistyped something or used the wrong word as a typo. Something proofreading his work would have corrected. His repetition often caused me to skip chapters at a time for details I got tired of reading again and again, just to get back to the story.

It felt like filler material. I still give him four stars simply because if you get around those negative aspects of the books. The story is unique and compelling. Jonathan himself seems to be a great individual as he answered questions from me as I was reading the books. I pride myself on honesty and it actually hurts me to write anything negative about his stories as I do enjoy them. The author is a decent writer and a very good story teller. The only problem I have with this author is the constant repetition. If you take out all of the flash-backs and woe-is-mees, then the book might only be 10 pages only kidding but there is a lot of it.

I would recommend this series, as well as his others series. After awhile you will find yourself skimming through the many flash-backs and woe-is-mees but the story are good and will want to complete them to see how they end. I do enjoy this author. I do get tired of battle plans , battle scenes, battle. I had hopes for him to turn out better, but point is even best of intentions can be used for evil, its all about how you think.. One person found this helpful.

Dear Jonathan, another wonderful and imaginative story in the series. I highly recommend reading this book to adults interested in reading a great story. Thanks for the entertainment. Lord Mazael is again walking a tightrope. Keeping his demonsouled nature in check. Managing the delicate peace in the grim marches as Lord Richard from above and the barbarian invaders all try and tear it apart. The main threat however may come from his friend Lucan. I loved this book, but the editing could have been a bit better. I found many mistakes and, for me, that's a big deal.

But the storyline was awesome and it made me want to continue on with Jonathan Moeller books. This is a series that read rather quickly. I couldn't put down the books as I read. They must be read in order for the story to make sense. This is Book 5. The author has lead to this book in the previous 4 books and the story keeps evolving. Favorite series by this author. Jonathan does an excellent job with this series. It has magic, some love, the plot is great.

I absolutely love this series. Filled with great characters these stories move with astonishing speed through complex side plots and always end satisfactorily. So glad I picked up Demonsouled as a free read, because Jonathan Moeller is my new favorite author. I have read and enjoyed everything I have read by you so far including the ghosts series , and the third soul, but especially the demonsouled series.

I read constantly but have not enjoyed a set of characters since the wheel of time by Robert Jordan. I really enjoyed the dark side to the novels sOme of the imagery of the necromantic magic and the price paid To wield it left whispers of truth for me To chase. I was wondering what your history was with magic and the arcane and how you came to b interested in that subject? Generally, I tend to use magic in my books as a metaphor for illegitimately acquired power.

This was not a new thought for me but it was definitely a well wrote out one. Have you ever thought of writing a screen play? You seem To understand some elements of magic that others do not , was that just good research or was There more to it? N e ways I just wanted to tell u that I a rabid reader of not just this type of work.

I am right now working my way through the Babylonian talmud, done books by conservative author Rabbi and different authors on spiritual warfare. I volunteer at a homeless shelter teaching classes on inner healing I pick up a book for fun yours and really did enjoy if I will buy more my questions are just curiosity. Great books, downloaded demonsouled and got the others right after, hooked cant wait for the next ones, lucan was one of my favorite characters in the books.

Hope there will be more! I am hoping to have a new one written this summer. For the battling souls thing, the idea came from a biology class I took. Just wanted to say that I very much enjoy the Demonsouled series!

Hi I came across your books on the Smashwords website. I wanted to make sure that there is no other linked series that I should start before this one. Also, are there any linked series that I should read after the Demonsouled series. Soul of Sorcery coming out in a few weeks. Just finished soul of sorcery. Had to stop and tell you how much I have loved the Demonsoul series. I am now intrigued to begin another of your series, any suggestions? Thank you first of all for the series! Finished Soul of Sourcery last night at around 3am: The odd word that is misspelt, repeated or just appears out of nowhere, really breaks the trance in which I as a reader often find myself.

The series is great so I believe that it deserves to be presented Typo free! Thanks again for the series and thank you for whatever it was that made you decide to try your hand at fiction instead of computer books hahaha………. Well, I would be happy to have a read through your next book before you finalize it.

I am not a professional and would do it at no cost of course. If you are interested, then let me know. Got onto your Demonsouled series after completing the Ghost series. Like the Ghost series, I love your Demonsouled series. One question that I have in the Demonsouled series — what happened to the serpent people that still had their limbs? They were the good guys.

#3 Soul of Serpents – Jonathan Moeller, Pulp Writer

The Tervingis are great and for some reason they remind me of Native Americans. The Ang-kath, the serpent people who have kept their limbs, are still out there. One of the reasons is that they mostly live far to the east, further east than even the original Tervingi homeland, and only rarely come to the west, where the Grim Marches and Knightcastle are. The Tervingi were fun to write — I based them off a group called the Thervingi, a tribe of Gothic barbarians that invaded the Roman Empire around AD. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Looking forward to the next release of both series…. Thank you very much for writing this wonderful series. After reading the first book i was hooked. I am wondering if you have created a map to go with the series. If not would you be willing to? After the series is done, I might do a map. Hopefully that will serve as a helpful substitute for a map until I can do one. Jonathan, I love the Demonsouled series. I am looking forward to reading the final book in the series with the epic battle between Mazael and The Old Demon.

My only disappointment so far has been the direction you took Lucan. I think this series is good enough for publishing to print and should be put into paperback, but as someone else wrote here, they books need editing for typos and wording errors. Besides is an adverb meaning in addition, as well, furthermore, etc. Beside is a preposition meaning near to, next to, close to, etc. Concerning typos, I agree. Concerning Lucan, the direction his character took surprised me. Finally that caught up to him. Love the Demonsouled series.

You have a definite talent in the field of writing. My graduate degree is in English, so admittedly, at first, it was a problem for me. However, I found that the content of the story makes up for the inconsequential errors. As I became used to your style and deeply drawn into the story itself, the errors no longer distracted me. After all, we are not paying the full price of a published hard copy.

Instead, we are enjoying the efforts of your labors at no cost or minimal cost to us.

Please, as a favor to the world of fantasy readers everywhere, never stop writing! When will Soul of swords be released on kindle? Finished all the rest. So if all goes well, the book should be out in mid-summer or so. Wanted to drop a remark and allow you to know the Rss feed is truly not operating now. Thanks for, visiting this blog men! I didnt realise that. Hello I have just finished the Soul of Skulls and was on the edge of my seat with excitement to start the Soul of Swords. This is truly a great series. This is my second series with you the Tower of Endless Worlds and I am looking forward to starting a third Ghost or Frostborn series.

I was wondering if you have put out a map on the Demonsouled world. Because they are traveling to so many places, I am glad you put out a glossary but it would be great to see them on a map. Thank you for all the great reads. I currently do not have a map of the Demonsouled world. I came here looking for a map as well. There is a king mentioned but I have no clue where he is or why he is not involved.

I got got a bunch of free books one night when my paypal was empty. Out of about 20 of them I ended up liking the first demonsouled book the most and have been reading nothing else since. I know that giving the first in a series for free is a good marketing tactic but I think that these books are much underrated. I really cant stand characters like that.

Their enemies do not have to kill them, just send a woman to do some freaky things to them and these heroes would die from shock. Your books are are much better than that overrated, LOTR ripoff series. Mazael could use a little more depth and darkness. One need not be pure evil to be dark. He needs a little more of Lucan in him. More complexity — The series so far is very predictable.

Perhaps some twists and such like those in the Malazan books or even Game of Thrones. Either, it is a good series. Who knows, years from now there could be a show based on these books. Thanks for the kind words about the books! If you get to the 5th book, I can promise some twists. In the earlier books you also talked about tristafel and how lion was created there but in later books you stated that the high elderborn created it also when you return to the demonsouled series will the cirstarcians, the Arminiars, and the ang- lath be in it especially the latter as some more info on them would be nice.

I am really enjoying your books. I am reading the Demonsouled and Ghost series, and want to start on the Frostborn, and any other series you have out. The stories are compelling and the characters are memorable. The plots are interesting and exciting. Keep up the good work. I am filling my Kindle with all your books. Well I got the first three books of the demonsoul series. Read through them in no time and today I checked my nook was about start rereading and bam 4 more books to buy.

Hello mister Moeller, I just wanted to say that in the last few years since I started reading Demonsouled my writing has become so much better, you are an inspiration. Two years ago I commented and I cringe at my spelling mistakes and such. But the fact still stands that you are an incredible writer. May you continue to weave stories that captivate us all. I just read book 6 and 7 in 2 days.

Your books are so wonderful. Thank you for all the effort and excitement you put in to every page of your books. You are my favorite author. I look forward to reading more of your work. And reading 6 and 7 in two days was quite an impressive reading feat, since those are LONG books! Summer has been quite full of projects so the map has gotten squeezed further down the list, alas. We know you are working hard. You are a super fast writer.
