A lot of the data on Yr is free to use in applications and services. This was the only place we ate in Italy where the emphasis on turning tables trumped service and food quality. Our main course was delivered ahead of our appetizer. Nothing about meal was memorable, except for being our least favorite restaurant on this vacation. Most european restaurants offer very relaxed, unhurried dining. We ordered a primi patti first course and a pizza.

They first brought out the pizza and then a few minutes later they brought our the primi patti a local specialty of ground chickpea and mussels. Both were good, not great. In fact after the pizza in Milan and the lake district, the pizza in this area was a bit disappointing. In addition, the seats they put us kept getting bumped into by diners and waitstaff.
We were so hurried that we hardly could enjoy the food. The only excuse is that it was Saturday night of a 4 day weekend and the place was jammed.
We spotted this restaurant on the dock as it looked really inviting and decorated really beautifully. The food selection was really good and offered a fantastic selection of local Ligurian dishes as well as a decent wine list. We were both craving pizza and we were not disappointed. I can honestly say this was one of the best pizzas I have ever had! Really happy with our choice of restaurant that evening. We ate at Il Timone as part of a Road Scholar walking tour one evening. It is right in beautiful Porto Venere across from the docks. Our group of 9 were seated at a large square table right in front of the cooking area.
It was perfect for great conversation. The decor is modern. Service was good and our food was delicious. We started with a traditional chickpea dish that tasted like a creamy soup.

Next we were served hot potatoes with pesto. The main course was baked fish with tomatoes in parchment.

Our dessert was not a favorite, custard with chocolate sauce. We enjoyed our dinner and would recommend Il Timone if you are in this area.
