What I thought would be the same, predictable, girl-meets-sexy-billionaire story turned into so much more! Of course Lily finds Calder very handsome, and at first she resists her attraction to him but then as she gets to know him better, she lets herself go wild. Lily begins falling for the gorgeous but aloof Calder. This might sound like a predictable plot but there is so much more to this delicious book! The sex scenes are HOT and the storyline is realistic and interesting and kept me turning the pages to see where she would take these characters next.
Fantastic debut by Ember Casey. ARC provided by author for an honest review. It's difficult to write an entire book which mostly entails the event that happen with only two characters. There were times when Lily called her father and when her crazy ex showed up, but for the most part this story is about Lily and Calder. Lily is determined to get Billionaire playboy Calder Cunninham to keep to the word of his deceased father in providing the funding pledgee to her father's Art ARC provided by author for an honest review.
Lily is determined to get Billionaire playboy Calder Cunninham to keep to the word of his deceased father in providing the funding pledgee to her father's Art Center. In her determination and single minded goal, she misses a lot of clues that would give her insight into what's happening with Calder.
Calder in his pride keeps his position to himself, which reinforces Lily's thought he's selfish. During a weekend long thunder storm, Lily is stuck in the Cunningham mansion where she and Calder play a few sexy games, telling each other its just sex. And it is HOT! But is that all it is. Is Lilly getting closer to what's really going on with Calder and is Calder right about what Lily is hiding from.
There were a really funny parts to this story and even more sexy parts.

Although I understood Lily's desire to reach her goal, I thought she was the selfish one who only thought of things from her point of view. She had a lot of preconceptions about Calder and his stubbornness reinforced it, although he didn't realize it. He did have moments where he showed he was deeper than Lily thought. But it would only take her a moments thought about the Center to sweep her changing mind aside.
I would definitely like to read the sequel Truth or Dare to see if the author can keep up or improve on this first outing. Great story about Lily and her fight to save the Frazer Center for Arts, which her father had help establish. The Center had been largely supported by the Cunningham family in recent years, and following a death in their family, the 4 year contract that had been drawn up securing that support was whipped from the Center.
Calder Cunningham appeared to be the arrogant, billionaire, playboy that was responsible for that. It was delightful and delicious to watch Lily challenge Calder about the situati Great story about Lily and her fight to save the Frazer Center for Arts, which her father had help establish. It was delightful and delicious to watch Lily challenge Calder about the situation, whilst also revealing each other through their flirtatious antics!
Looking forward to the continuation of their story.. Aug 04, Trish rated it it was ok Shelves: Not bad for a romance novel, but definitely left a lot to be desired This is one of those instantly hot and heavy relationships so it should be interesting to see how the author makes the couple stick together in the wake of the chaos that's about to ensue. Nov 04, Liv rated it liked it Shelves: The premise of this book was really good.
There's this kind of ominous excitement with heroine, Lily Frazer breaking into Calder Cunningham's estate in order to convince the billionaire to not renege on his late father's promise of monetary contribution to the Frazer Center for the Arts owned by her father. It was a series of unfortunate events or fortunate for this budding romance , which included a storm that kept Lily in Calder's mansion for days. Both Calder and Lily have good chemistry a The premise of this book was really good.
Both Calder and Lily have good chemistry and although they are at odds, they have this nice sexual tension building up between them. However, with Lily's selfish, fickle, moodiness and attitude of entitlement, she was kind of a turn off, not to mention a nitwit. Watching Lily's thinking process was like those commercials that make fun of the characters in horror films who make dumb decisions. For instance, "OK Lily, so you're hiding in the dark waiting for Calder to find you with a wager in the balance so you can win back this huge contribution for your father's center, and you forget to turn off your cell phone????
I liked Calder a lot more than Lily. He was brooding, sly and mysterious. He also had patience with Lily and her antics. Even though I thought the premise was interesting, I began to get bored half way through. I was expecting some more excitement and build up in the games, also I thought this romance lacked heart. However, there is a turning point at the end, especially for Lily, as she re-evaluates herself how refreshing!!! I certainly want to know more about Calder…. Natalie Duke did a very good job in her narration.
Apr 03, A. Calder likes games and Lily likes Calder. What if the prize was the Centre donation? I want to slap Lily.
First off, a contract does NOT survive the death of a party so Calder is under absolutely NO legal obligation to pay you. You still have a father. And if the centre is that great and you believe in it that much, then you can surely get some money from another source, or think of something else.
It was easy enough when you stopped harassing poor Calder, even your pointless ex came up with other donations within days. You noted when you first saw Calder that: Now that I see him in the full light, I'm startled by the changes in him since the last time we met. Before, he was the picture of perfection: The change is more than just the aftermath of our scuffle in the mud outside.
He's wearing a plain white T-shirt and dark pants, and I can tell neither was particularly luxurious even before I arrived here today. His hair has outgrown its typical stylish cut, and his previously clean-shaven cheeks are sporting a coat of dark stubble. There are dark circles beneath his eyes. You notice that there are no security guards, that there is one staff member inside the enormous, rambling mansion and you also notice how upset he gets and how quickly.
None of that stops you whining on about your precious art centre. I got that it was art… but if it was all she could talk about at least she could bother to tell the reader. Voracity mean excessive desire to eat… as in voracious. I think you meant veracity. Nov 03, V Nerd rated it really liked it Shelves: His Wicked Games Genre: Lily Frazer runs a non profit organisation with her father, it is an art foundation that has been brought up from nothing to what is today. Unfortunately the main person that has been giving money to the founda Book: Unfortunately the main person that has been giving money to the foundation is no other than the crazy old billionaire Mr Cunningham who has recently died!
Not to worry though as the money has been passed down to his son Calder, and there has been a contract signed to carry on the payments Unfortunately Calder has contacted his lawyers and broken the contract agreement!! The thing is no one will let her in, so she climbs the gate and let herself in!!
That's when we meet Calder!!!! Calder is HOT and is instantly attracted to Lily, who trys to stop herself being attracted to him. The question Lily has to ask herself is how far is she willing to go to save the foundation? With some very hot and steamy scenes, this little book may have you fanning yourself down.
With secret passageways, and the best game of hide and seek EVER!! The narrator did quite a good job and I got used to her after a while, but at the beginning it sounded like it had quite an echo like it was recorded in a bathroom. Oh how I loved this! Review in a few I really really really enjoyed reading this one. This is a debut by the author Ember Casey and I would say she wrote one hell of a fun story. I'm glad I took a chance on this one. Here are the reasons why I loved it: I love this "cat and mouse" thing going on between Lily and Calder. The story was fast paced.
It doesn't beat around the bush. It is free from drama thank God for that and it is basically fun to read Oh how I loved this!

It is free from drama thank God for that and it is basically fun to read. I was laughing most of the time while reading it. First, there's Lily the feisty lil thing who is all bent to do everything she can to save the Center from closing you would admire what she has to put up with just to do so Now there's Calder the hot billionaire who is the answer to all of Lilys prayers.
The way he manipulated Lily into agreeing with his bets and winning them all Oh the chemistry between this two was just scorching HOT!!! First, there's the rolling in the mud scene funny!!! Second, there's the painting scene wickedly hot!!!

There was no cliffhanger thingy at the end So, guys check this one out Imagine being young, attractive and desperate for money And, she hadn't been desperate until Calder Cunningham, heir of the Center's largest benefactor, had inexplicably stripped their funding. Lily--again, young attractive and desperate--wants to entice Calder to reinstate the funding, by whatever means necessary.
Finding Lily trapped at the Cunningham estate Imagine being young, attractive and desperate for money Finding Lily trapped at the Cunningham estate by a flood, Calder offers some of the money back, if Lily can win the games he proposes. What Lily tries to convince herself--that her compliance is all for the Center--is far from the mark, however, and when her controlling ex, Garrett, arrives on the scene we learn Calder's most-guarded secret.
What I liked about this one: Lily is able to push past her prejudice regarding Calder and his fortune. She is a driven character who is appropriately reflective and inappropriately brash Calder is an interesting lead, and his perceptive skills are on point. He desires Lily, has for some time, and yet the situation doesn't feel smarmy or manipulative as Lily seeks to exploit Calder, too.
When it comes to the climax, it is Calder's advice of that pushes Lily forward, but she makes the tough choice on her own. The ending was satisfying and the potential for more tales of Lily and Calder is a highlight. Keep on cooking up those spicy tales Great read , loved the chemistry between Lily and Calder. It was great how they both come crashing together as well , I think the sexual energy was running right from the start , I loved the hide and seek game , how Lily wants to win but then she doesn't , but I also love the Great read , loved the chemistry between Lily and Calder.
It was great how they both come crashing together as well , I think the sexual energy was running right from the start , I loved the hide and seek game , how Lily wants to win but then she doesn't , but I also love the fact the writer didn't drag it out, that part was nicely done , just enough excitement then BAM YOU LOSE!!! The sex was very good , but isn't it strange because you can feel and sense the sexual tension you almost want them to shag from the get go , and yet it probably only took Calder 30 hours to get his hand down her knickers , and considering Lily at the time hates Him that's some serious smooth , Calder is hot and he can do the nasty very nicely; Obviously there are reasons as to why these two people know each other even remotely or why Lily feels the need to break into Calder's property , but to say anything would be giving to much more away , but I will be reading the second book Truth or Dare!!!
Seriously great book, people! It was fun and interesting and sexy, not to mention it actually came with a plot! I've been noticing that a lot lately, books full of sex but no plot Lily definitely comes off as a selfish, stubborn brat, but shes being a selfish, stubborn brat for very unselfish reasons Caulder is refined and classy thanks to his upbringing, but he's so very sexy and interesting and full of surprises.
He's under an extreme amount of press Seriously great book, people! He's under an extreme amount of pressure but he handles it so well. And just like Lily, he can use a couple days to forget the outside world The ending was complete, which I appreciated.

No cliffhangers, no blatant unresolved conflicts Honestly, this book is on top of my favorite summer reads. Thank you, Ember, for sending me a friend request and introducing me to this lovely book. Calder initially comes off all arrogance, but once I learned a little more about his character, I was definitely in love with him. I also adored how fierce and no-nonsense Lilly was. Everything also came together really well in the ending. And I loved the premise! Some of those "games" were seriously elaborate and I was sucked in for the ride. Unless, for some reason, you hate gorgeous playboy billionaires and some seriously sexy action in an awesome mansion FREE steamy contemporary romance!
