Some chapters of this book felt like a sermon based on a mix of Cayce's work and the bible, while other chapters were more focused directly on Cayce. At times, I had a sense of an unsolicited visitor at my doorstep asserting their beliefs. However, I continued to read and enjoyed the chapters focused primarily on interpretations of Cayce regarding other subject matter such as health. It may be the case that my personal interpretations will mirror those of the author but I currently feel that the author's studies of the material have brought him to a comfortable comprehension I cannot yet claim without direct study of the Cayce material to form my own interpretation.
The author does a good job of pulling the disparate material together with a common background theme. Overall, the material does appear to offer a good general primer, as advertised. After finishing the book, I wish I would have been exposed to more Cayce material first so that I had a better foundation to understand the author's vision. In summary, without foreknowledge of Cayce material it's not possible to determine whether the author is providing a truly genuine representation or selectively referencing material to support a personal interpretation which is positive, hopeful, and generally informative overall.
This book would best be read with access to the Cayce readings for proper context unless the reader is already familiar with Cayce's body of work. Mass Market Paperback Verified Purchase. Cayce and Andrew Jackson Davis are the two primeer American psychics. Cayce to assist one in knowing ones self. Thinking persons should be aware that reading this book may start you on a path of self discovery. The question is are you ready to start on this glorious quest to "Know Thyself" as admonished by E. There is still so much to learn and so much less time to spend learning Puryear has written and excellent book, enjoy This whole process is like a funnel with the bottom of the funnel ending up in the brain debatable whether the brain contains the whole process or not.
The metaphysics in this book is fascinating and usefull.

I'm about three quarters of the way through. The writer's style is not always too clear for me but the content is provocative and induces a need to refer to earlier chapters for clarity. I would recommend this to Cayce followers. Although I received this book months ago I still haven't gotten in back from my fiance yet.
She was at the cusp of learning how to help her inner self and this book definitely was the catalyst for that.

A good beginner book for cayce and also good for rounding out current followers of his work. This has been a very good book to get me up to speed.

It has caused me to think about a lot of things from a new angle. I'm glad I bought it. This is an excellent summary of Edgar Cayce's philosophy, written in contemporary English which makes it much more readable. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone interested in the subject.
