Don't think that angle was needed in this subject matter. Overall would recommend this book as a source to motivate the establish to get moving. This book gave me additional information. It inspired me to pay greater attention to fitness and gently share perspective with others. Definitely not what I expected. Boring and didn't do anything for me. I think there is a video that is better.

I have introduced this book and put the concept in action in large organization meetings. I purchased this book thinking it would teach me some exercises that I could use to set up an exercise program for my office staff. I was really looking forward to getting everyone moving. When the book arrived, I paged through it eagerly looking for the exercises. Nothing but a fuzzy photo of a poster used in one of the author's programs.
I skimmed through the book hoping to get something out of it, but it was just a series of exhortations to eat right and exercise, interspersed every few pages with photos and reminiscences celebrating the author's incredible beauty, fitness, and talent. Here's a picture of me when I was an international supermodel.
Here are a bunch of wonderful poems I wrote.
Instant Recess: Building a Fit Nation 10 Minutes at a Time
Here's a picture of me as a college basketball star. Here's a story about my incredible accomplishments in the medical field. You little people won't ever be like me, but don't despair--you can lose a couple of pounds and be at least a bit less disgusting than you are right now. I read this book expecting encouragement to go to the gym every day. While it certainly provides data to motivate such action if you're so inclined, it's really more about reintroducing small bouts of physical activity into everyone's daily routine.
It's not just about convincing you to exercise yourself, Instant Recess is a program of exercising in groups, in the middle of the day, at work, school, church, the library - wherever people gather. Recently, at the First AME Church of Los Angeles, we incorporated a quick but effective fitness interlude into all three of our Sunday worship services.
The enthusiastic response from our congregation was tremendous! Yancey, for waking us up to the dangers of our sedentary lives and for awakening our desire to get into better physical shape. It can work equally well in the corporate boardroom, school classroom, or for fans at a sporting event for that matter. It is a great place to start if we don't want to leave anyone behind.
I'm all for breaking our national inertia with a musical beat and a smile on our faces.
