Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. I have read many Hugh Corbett novels by Paul Doherty, they are all good. One person found this helpful. Paul Doherty has created a character and story line that draws your attention. The Prince of Darkness was very entertaining and intriguing. I am glad that I have just started the Series with more to look forward to. The list of possible murders and which one had the best motive is almost endless.
Sorting through them requires a logical mind able to separate fact from fiction. I enjoy this for the historical facts, the story held on to the end. I would recommend this to anyone who likes history. When a noble lady is found dead at a nunnery Hugh Corbett is sent to investigate. What follows is a trail of deception that will keep the reader turning the pages til the very end. Paul Doherty again delivers a top notch historical mystery! Well plotted, less grisley, good yarn blending fact and fiction. Corbett in better frame of mind , even to laughter! Paul Doherty does an excellent job in his research and story telling.
