But the Addo thinks there is one last hope. So long as someone is willing to sacrifice everything to be mankind's long shot. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of an instance that happened in this book between Garrett and Teagan.
See a Problem?
Trust me I understand why he did it but I think I was more upset with Nalena for not even being upset for more than a second. The whole situation ruined there relationship for me. Anyways the whole thing messed me up, that one part of the book ruined the rest of the book for me. I couldn't look at him the same. I thought I was finally able to read a true love story without some kind of cheating.
And yes he did technically cheat and I hated it. It can't be over, tell me it isn't so insert self, sobbing uncontrollably on the ground!!! My heart will need to recover from this because it goes balls to the wall pretty much from beginning to end I am so happy right now though, what a beautiful ending, the ever so talented Misty wrote this book with such amazing imagery and feeling.

The ending line tore at my heart strings and the way Nalena describes Garrett was not only holy wow worthy but so so amazing. It put me in this trance, I can't even explain it. If you haven't read this series, you must be cray I really like the series, but the last book was a huge let down. Surprise endings do not bother me, but rushed and ill thought out ending irritate me to no end! I do not want to give the end away so I will not elaborate on my irritation, but only to say I wished the author ended the series not rushing the finale and confusing the crap out of me.
I'm just going to make up my own ending so I can feel some closure instead of the weird, rushed and confusing one that is grating on my nerves! I cannot believe I actually paid money for the series. The first three were great - so was the fourth That had to be the most ridiculous ending I have ever read. It's like the author got tired of writing and handed it off to a space cadet who had never written anything in their life.
I definitely would not recommend these books to anyone. Why would I suggest someone read these just to have their intelligence insulted in the end. There was so much more to these characters - they deserved more and so does the reader. If I could give a negative number of stars I would. It seems like I am not alone in my feelings about the last book of this otherwise great series. Please Misty one more book to explain what happened to everyone.
Right now in my mind everyone is just floating around in space Oh I see the Addo chasing some milk and cookies through the Milky Way ha ha. Anyway the first three books were awesome I hope the Author pays attention to those who did not like the ending. I have to say there have only been a few book series that touched me the way this series has in my lifetime. When I first started reading Cornerstone I quickly became intrigued and realized this was something special.
As I moved through the series I was constantly engaged by the characters and kept telling my teen daughters "you have to read this! The ups and downs and twists and turns has my head in a tizzy to say the least, but they were well thought out and made sense to the storyline.
Capstone picked up right where Jamb left off and moved along quickly, but not so much as to feel like the ending was rushed. I do not want to write spoilers or anything, but I will say the final few pages of this story were beautiful. I applaud Misty Provencher for writing such a wonderfully written series, with characters that you really care about and love. I would recommend to anyone. I really enjoyed the entire series, but was disappointed in the ending. It was all crunched up into a few confused pages, leaving me wondering "Just what the heck is THAT all about?
Are they all coming back to a totally new world? This series was really good until this book. What kind of an ending was that?? It made no sense at all. I am very disappointed and now feel as if I wasted my time and money. Misty, did you run out of ideas???? See all 55 reviews. Most recent customer reviews. As soon as I received Capstone I was… sad.
I hate it, but Misty ended it beautifully. Capstone picked up where Jamb left off and let me tell you it is beyond crazy!
Rules are being broken, trust is being tested, and secrets are being held. So what does that mean for Garrett, Nalena, and the rest of their family? I have to say that no matter what goes on, the supporting characters are phenomenal. I was worried something was going to happen to him and the gang with the massive action that was going down at the end of Jamb. Massive amounts of ups and downs in this book. I was so excited that everyone was alive, worried about who could be trusted, then thrilled and then terrified.
I was ready to blow up Misty through Facebook, Twitter, and Email. One of the biggest reasons why I love this series is because of the message between the lines, well at least the message I received. Nothing is always as it seems, sometimes we have to have FAITH that everything will work out and trust in those worthy of our trust to have our backs. I cried a little in the last few chapters and practically bawled when I finished the book. I need more of them, of all of them.
Thank you Misty for writing an amazing series, one that I will definitely revisit often. Sep 05, Jackie -Sated Faery rated it it was amazing. This entire series is just amazing and this final book just blew me away! No matter how far into this world you get, there are still surprises that you can't even imagine. They love each other more than anything in the world but can still manage to put others ahead of themselves.
The love of the people surrounding them is magnificent, too. They've all accomplished so much and survived s Woah They've all accomplished so much and survived so much tragedy, it still brings tears to my eyes! I love, love this series and am already anxious to read through it again! Sep 10, Rachel rated it really liked it Shelves: This entire series has been brilliant and this book is gripping, exciting and a quality end to the series. The writing is a bit messy in places and it doesn't pay to really think too much about what is happening. Despite this it only lost a star because perfect though the ending was, it wasn't the ending I had invested four books worth of my time hoping for.
I'd still read them all again though. Nov 25, Austin Howard rated it really liked it. I enjoyed this book very much. Aug 15, Austlyn rated it it was ok. I was so invested on this series, but the end just did me in. It was so anti climatic in so many ways. Is the author a good author, I would have said yes-we until this book.
I will chalk this author up to authors I won't be reading again. Mar 04, Gina Stamm rated it liked it Shelves: Interesting close to the series.
The Cornerstone Series Archives - Misty Provencher
No sex but several close calls. Sep 30, Shelley Stoehr rated it it was amazing. Despite her apparent bravery, Nalena is plagued with wondering, Am I good enough? Provencher deftly weaves together a fully developed alternative world and mythology with the real-world, modern trials of a contemporary teenager who is as concerned with her boyfriend seeing her naked for the first time as she is that they are to be naked in an Ianua jail cell. If Capstone is lacking, it is in backstory.
And anyway, you should read the other books in the series -- they're all great! Capstone is full of suspense and adventure, woven with elements of romance, coming-of-age, and spiritual wisdom that will thrill and engage both teenaged and adult readers. Nov 22, Terri rated it liked it Shelves: I hate saying this, but whereas Cornerstone, book 1 in the series, started off so strongly, the rest of the series has declined. One of the things I hated the most was how Provencher handled the relationship between Nalena and Garrett.
When they infiltrated the Fury's headquarters in Jamb, Garrett had to act like he was dating another girl because she thought he was his older brother Sean. Some of the ways that carried over into Capstone really ruined the romance and the sweetness for me. Teagan and Sean were married, and Teagan was Fury so she was kind of crazy, and they were in the Fury HQ for a while, so Garrett "had" to have sex with her. Provencher wrote this great story with so much potential and wove it around this adorable romance between the former high school reject and the cute, popular guy who turns out to have powers like Nalena and also really love her, and then she just shattered it for me.
The only redeeming factor was the end. While the story up to that point was really rushed, and there were moments where the plot was a little too convoluted to make sense, I liked how Provencher ended the series with the Reset and the balance. It was consistent with the philosophy of balance and sacrifice that the Ianua had been espousing throughout the series, and it made sense that they would accomplish the Reset that way.
I thought it was daring and wrapped up the story pretty well. I think with some different and perhaps harsher editing, the Cornerstone series could have been something incredibly special. Sep 06, J9 rated it it was ok Shelves: It took me a bit longer to get to this book then I thought and it took me a bit longer to read than my average read.
The first two books kept my interest, the third I liked parts of, this fourth I just wanted to see what would happen to everyone. I had two main issues with the fourth and final book. I felt like some parts of the book were not edited - grammatically se It took me a bit longer to get to this book then I thought and it took me a bit longer to read than my average read. I felt like some parts of the book were not edited - grammatically sentences didn't make sense and it took away from flowing dialog and fast paced scenes. Whether it was the grammar or another part of the editing process, there were times when I felt lost as to what exactly was going on and I even reread parts to see if it was just me.
The focus of this installment's story line did not get resolved to my satisfaction given the build up and character development. I'm fine with the actual ending I just have no idea how we got there. So all in all, I recommend reading the series, it's just not on my top 10 of YA series. To view it, click here. I understand and loved the cornerstones for the Reset and Garrett and Nalena's journey to the core.
What I didn't like or expect was that the ending of the story was really their end! No completion of the binding or a life together. Just over a cliff and done?! I don't understand then why, if the Reset destroys everyone, does Garrett make such a declaration to Nalena for 4 books for nothing! With the author being Provencher, I knew to expect something different, but after reading about these characters for so long and I was hoping for a happily ever after.
Especially since their entire relationship had to take a back seat to eliminating the Fury and saving the world, not to mention Garrett's major hiccup which had me hating him! I know, they had to save mankind, but I was hoping to finish with a smile, not a book thrown across a room. Jan 03, Rachel rated it liked it Shelves: I'm happy to see that the series has finally culminated. I really loved it leading up to the ending, but the ending kind of lost me a little bit. The book was extremely well-written, only a few typos, and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
There were a few characters I forgot about in the time it took for me to finish the last one and start reading this one. So that's not a criticism, as its my own fault. I felt like the end was a little I don't know how to des Hm. I don't know how to describe it. I'm definitely glad I read it, and I think that the series as a whole was quite excellent. The world of the Ianua is certainly interesting, and I love all of the different roles their people have. I think the Veritas are absolutely fascinating. Sep 27, Claire rated it it was amazing. I read this a while ago and just realised I didn't leave a review for this one so here goes.
What can I say but what a brilliant series this was. I had cornerstone on my Kindle for a while and only started reading it when a friend asked me to, well why did I wait so long to start this series, who knows because once you get started you'll never be able to stop till you end up here after reading Capstone.

The Cornerstone Series
I was in such a rush to read this book but also sad as I knew it was the end of this series but I'm hoping that Misty will change her mind and continue with this series, you never know we can but hope!! Apr 02, A Book Vacation rated it it was amazing. Over the course of this 4 book series, this story and it's wonderful characters have come extremely far! I never would have suspected that, reading book 1, it would end up here where it ends. Provencher builds an amazong world, with awesome characters, plotlines, twists, and turns. Excited to read The Fly House as some of these characters will now show up there Definitely worth the read!
Aug 21, Claudia Harrington rated it liked it. The epic finally never happen, it almost feels like another book needs to written about what happens when the earth resets. Dead Lovers, family dies, the evil overtakes the whole world, not the ending I was expecting. The tone of the book changes, a bit so the story feels distorted.

I do understand the finale, I know what the writer meant when she kill everyone, but I still felt a bit cheated there was so much more I wanted to see. The final chapter of the Cornerstone series is done and what a fantastic ending! I love the relationship between Garrett and Nalena.
This is a great world that Misty Provencher has created and I'm sorry to see it end. Provencher is an extremely talented story teller and I can't wait for,the next series to come out!
