Parker said there would never be anything between them. There is danger coming at them from different, but equally deadly sources. Sage is caught in the middle as she struggles to keep herself, those she loves, and her heart, safe. I read this book in one sitting as the emotional turmoil of this love triangle was only rivaled by the danger that threatened them all. Nail-biting action is par for the course as the story quickly moved at a dizzying pace. Revelations about Ryker and Parker, even her own family, kept coming and coming as Sage dodged more than one attempt on her life.
Was it all about revenge, settling old scores? Was it true love or simply a physical need? Sage is being torn apart by decisions she had, and still has, to make. A series of emotional scenes towards the end of the book seemed to come oh, so close to revealing what their hearts truly felt. I love all three of these characters and I want them all to be happy—author, take note, please!
While some parts of the story ended well, there are still many questions about how it will all turn out. I, for one, will be counting the days to find out! Playing Dirty picks up right where Power Play left off and let me tell you, it takes you on one crazy ride. From the moment I started reading this book, I quickly found myself lost in the lives of Sage, Ryker and Parker. When we last left this trio, it was clear that Sage had made her choice.
Seeing Ryker and Sage together made things become clear. Together, Ryker and Parker must put aside their differences in order to protect Sage. So much is on the line. The time has come to see just how far one will go to save the one that they love….. What a crazy, crazy ride! My poor heart has been put through the ringer! However, I will say once again that this series, really makes me want to change my mind. Does it drive me crazy?
Does it frustrate me? Do I find myself yelling at Sage for her actions?? Parker is one frustrating man. So many times, I wanted to yell at him that enough was enough already. He had to make a choice. And Ryker, I felt so bad for him in all of this, but at the same time, he made some mistakes that led some of these things to happen. I keep coming back for more. To me, at this time, there is no clear winner. Once again, this book had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see how things would play out.
It seemed like there was danger around every corner. This is the type of book that made me feel like I needed a bowl of popcorn to eat while my eyes were glued to my kindle. I loved all the danger, action, and suspense. The lies and twists had me turning the pages quickly to find out more. Playing Dirty is a great follow up to Power Play. This book more than delivers on the angst, romance, action and suspense. And once again, there is no shortage of sexy times. My only complaint is that the story came to an end!
I still have a few unanswered questions and am just dying to know how do we come back from the way things ended? I finished Power Play, the first book in the Risky Business Trilogy not having a clear favourite guy. But I also liked Ryker too. So, I'm sat firmly on the fence as we continue to follow Sage, Parker and Ryker wondering if I'll still be undecided at the end of Playing Dirty?
The time-line has moved on four months but we first get an insight into what the three protagonists have been up to in the intervening months. I found this little slow I finished Power Play, the first book in the Risky Business Trilogy not having a clear favourite guy. I found this little slow until we get back to the current date and then, BAM! The pace picks up to lightening speed until the ending hits you like an out of control freight train!
In addition, we also gain some useful back-story for Parker and Ryker which explains their complicated relationship. I empathised with Sage as her feelings for both these alpha men in her life becomes blurred, although I laughed out loud when she met my all time book boyfriend?? Then we have comments from Ryker like this: And if you can't believe me when I say it, then I'll show you. In true Ms Snow style, the writing is suspenseful, humorous and sexy.
The story is told from Sage's POV as we navigate through a plot full of twists. There are a surprise or two thrown in for good measure making this a fabulous platform to launch into what will no doubt be an unforgettable showdown in Play To Win. Nope, I'm still on that fence! View all 3 comments. This is probably a stronger book than 4 stars I devoured the 1st book of this series, but this went slower for me.
I actually read other books at the same time, because it was too stressful to read this one. Please see 'wuss' comment above. Anyway, I'm way to attached to one of the male characters I'm not always mightily attached to Snow's female leads, becau This is probably a stronger book than 4 stars I'm not always mightily attached to Snow's female leads, because they really do bring a lot of this on themselves. Do read this trilogy Jul 27, Tatiana marked it as to-read.
Jul 01, Ali rated it really liked it. There was a dynamic to it that felt very natural and real. Sage had been in love with her boss, Parker, for years. He had turned down her advances and she was trying to move on with Ryker, a man very much available and interested…even if her heart still had a connection to Parker. It made sense to me. However, my thought 3. However, my thoughts are quite different with this sequel.

Playing Dirty turned into the sort of love triangle I really dislike. Sage became a wishy-washy heroine. This book takes place four months after the end of the first. This is where my adverse feelings for Sage stemmed. I wanted to slap some sense into her. I wanted her to break it off with Ryker until she found some clarity. Instead, she bounces from one to the other like a ping pong ball. I was that frustrated. The action of the story, as well as Parker and Ryker, still very much held my attention.
I like the twisty mobsters and crime boss storyline Snow has going on here. I like the broken relationship that Paker and Ryker struggle with, as well. I want more of that. I want to see how can heal, I want to know more of they mysterious woman that drove such a wedge between them. And ultimately, I want to see what they can be like after a second woman comes between them.
That is the factor that had me really thinking about how much I liked this book. It kind of put my mind in a pickle. But I really need Sage to pull her head out of her ass and man up to her feelings. While I focused a lot here on the part that aggravated me, I am still invested in the story and enjoyed many aspects of it.
Jun 22, Heidi rated it really liked it. This book picks up right where Power Play ends so if you haven't read the first in the series trust me you will want to pick up the book or you will be a little lost. Tiffany Snow has a way of making me read her books even though I hate love triangles. This story take the reader on a roller coaster of emotions as Sage fights her attraction to her boss while she is dating the sexy cop Ryker. Readers are introduced to a whole cast of characters including Sages wealthy Parents who just happen to know Parker Sages boss. Ryker meets the parents only to discover that Sage isn't just well off but that she is worth millions and that just doesn't sit well with him. They fight, they make up. The reader will get the chance to read the kiss and make up over and over and over again. When things are just finally running smooth between all three someone from Ryker's past threatens everything.
I would love to go into details but it would totally spoil the book. The reason this book didn't get a 5 from me was because it reminded me too much of Tiffany Snow's Kathleen Turner Seires how everything played out. This books has a lot more humor than that series but not nearly as much as the first book which I enjoyed.
Sage isn't as strong as she started out at in the first book and in fact I yelled at her several times int he book. When she deicdes who she loves everything spins out of control and the author will have your head spin so fast you are not sure who Sage is with. I enjoyed the meet the parents scene and I love Sage's father he is totally bad! ARC Sent by Netgalley for my honest review. Sep 01, Holly rated it it was ok Shelves: Not nearly as good as I expected it to be. There were maybe 2 parts in the entire book that caught me off guard but everything else was cookie cutter. I had high hopes for this one but all the sling-shoting back and forth is testing my patience.
She doesn't know what Not nearly as good as I expected it to be. She doesn't know what she really wants out of life. She's been tortured like 4 times. I'm mad because I was really looking forward to this book and it didn't meet my expectations. I'm curious enough about the teaser for the big plot twist coming in book 3 that I will read it but I'll wait for the library copy in case its anything like book 2.
Still holding out hope though! Aug 14, Saly rated it liked it Shelves: Be warned there will be spoilers below So Sage and Ryker have been dating for over four months now but Sage is obviously still hung up over the unattainable. There are several unflattering revelations about Ryker which we all know is all contrived to give us our final couple. I really didn't like Sage much in this book to be honest. It is dishonest to string someone else along when you really have someone else on your mind, who you really don't try and forget honestly.
Consider how the first book finished and how the extra chapter was those who read will understand what I mean its a long way till the second book! I am still torn between those two! Jun 20, Stef rated it it was amazing Shelves: Suspense action packed, mf,romance, funny, great book keeps you right in the story and you want more. Sage has hard decisions on who she wants to be with Ryker and Parker.
Then when Ryker finds out about Sage's parents and what her actual last name is than Ryker is having problems on how to proceed, yet must keep Sage protected. Ryker has made his interest in her very clear and is willing to invest the time necessary for a long term commitment.
And while she appreciates having his undivided attention, there's always a part of her mind that drifts to Parker, and wonders if she has made the right decision. A part of her heart belongs to Parker, and she has a pretty good inclination that a relationship with him would go beyond anything she could imagine,.. She feels guilty for having feelings for him, while being in a relationship with Ryker, and knowing how much Ryker loves her, but she just can't help herself. The last thing Ryker wants to do is send Sage running into Parkers arms, but when his past comes back to haunt him, he's forced to go undercover and assume his old identity, and he has to leave Sage behind.
With her safety still at stake Ryker enlists Parker to protect her, full well knowing he could be making the ultimate mistake, Parker is more than willing to step in and be her Knight in shining armor, and have the opportunity to spend more time with her outside of the office. He has longed to be closer to her, but constantly resists his urges because he knows he's not equipped to offer her anything longterm. But the more time he spends with her, the harder it becomes to resist her This series has proven to be quite addictive, and after reading this installment I am left dying to know who will ultimately win Sage's heart.
These three have monopolized my thoughts for the last two days, and I'm still at a impasse as to which one would be a better choice for her, all I do know is that the third installment can't come fast enough! Ryker and Parker are sure to have you smiling the whole way through, and blushing from time to time too! Jun 22, Tammy Zautner rated it it was ok Shelves: This review will be harsh in nature. There is no way around that. Usually I am more politically correct but this book tested every ounce of restraint I own.
Plain and simple, Playing Dirty was a huge disappointment. I'll start with the men, the love I felt for Ryker and Parker has definitely dwindled since Power Play. Their maturity level around Sage begs to be forgotten about. Those two drove me somewhat batty; however, it was their heroine who earned those not so lovely stars above.
This chick took home the cake for being THE pettiest, whiniest, and most indecisive heroine on the face of this earth. There was not one redeeming quality about her. The tug of war she played between these two frenemies was ridiculous. Let's all say together now—wash. No lie, the term wishy-washy was created solely to define Sage.
There even came a moment in time when I started hoping the bad guys would just take her out and be done with it. I can't even begin to go into detail about the development and plot. Yes, I get it, this is a book of fiction, but my lord, Playing Dirty suspended all kinds of freaking reality. There has to be some kind of reality at play. How many times can one woman run into danger before enough is enough? How many times can she be shot at? Seriously, the drama was so over the top and contrived, it wasn't funny. It was enough to make your head hurt.

I know it did mine. And unfortunately, it didn't end there. After all this and then some, we end on a cliffy. Playing to Win has Sage in even more danger!! I did and I totally regret not ending it with book two. Aug 18, Christi Snow rated it it was amazing Shelves: I'll make this simple for you You should also note that this is the second book in a series that probably should be read in order because it's a single continuing story.
I didn't read book 1 and I'm still saying you should read this book I would just recommend reading that one first. I have my copy on order, so I'll be going back and reading it as soon as it comes in. Yes, this book was ju My Review: Yes, this book was just that good. This ongoing story is a love triangle.
Normally I'm not a fan. Tiffany Snow just changed my mind about that. This book is brilliantly done and even after finishing the book, I still have no idea who Sage should go with. I love all three of these characters and want them all to be happy and I just don't see how that's going to happen. Bring on book 3. So, let me explain.
Playing Dirty (Risky Business, #2) by Tiffany Snow
Ryker and Parker were friends in high school and joined the Marines together. A woman came between them, shattering them both, and destroying their friendship. Sage is Parker's assistant. Somehow in the last book he fascilitated Sage meeting Ryker, who happens to be a cop. Parker and Sage have never dated because of their working relationship although they're both attracted to one another. They have a 2 year working relationship they don't want to screw with. Hopefully the next book we find out more!
Out of Bounds Heath's brother turned his plane around when Heath found the note on his car that he would be dead soon. This stalking was getting out of hand, so Jackson called the FBI. Sydney was assigned to Heath's case. She was a beautiful woman and Heath was attracted to her. There are more incidents that happen to make this story thrilling.
I can't wait to read the next book. Blindsided After the person broke into Heath's house and the shooting was over, the FBI and police were there. Sydney's boss was at the house questioning Sydney. She had to tell him she was sleeping with Heath. He immediately suspended her, and to top it off the media got hold of the whole story. Sydney couldn't leave her house as the media were camped out in front of her building. She also wouldn't answer heath's call for a few days. You will need read the book to see what happens.
Playing Dirty
The three stories were great-- it had love, sex, suspense, betrayal. One person found this helpful. In the first book Heath is engaged to Violet his longtime sweetheart. Violet turns out to be vapid amongst other things and the fame obviously affects her better judgement and she ends up losing Heath in the pursuit of her version of happiness. That's okay though since Heath doesn't seem that cut up about his relationship ending the way it does.
Then enters Heath's stalker You can pretty much guess who it is based on the interactions he has with the people in his life outside of his family of course. Agent Tyler just happens to be Heath's weakness, she's his perfect woman and he wastes no time in pursuing her until she is his. The stalker is still in full effect at this stage and some drama ensues involving Violet and a team mate on Heath's football team.
Interaction with Jackson Montgomery, Heath's big brother is throughout the books as well. Agent Tyler and Heath get down and dirty more than once. The third book is basically trying to tie up any loose ends, unfortunately the series on a sense of incompleteness. It feels like there should be an epilogue to close it out and there isn't. Oh you get to meet the stalker, and a proposal happens. This book definitely felt like it was rushed to be finished. Overall I loved the characters, Heath was very down to earth given his wealth, fame and status could have had him acting a right douche.
Heath is all about football, it's his passion outside of partaking in sexual encounters with the enticing Agent Tyler. There was some grammar errors, again I'd put it down to the book being rushed to finish. Engaging, edge of your seat action, hot steamy sexual chemistry, and suspense made this one hell of of good read. To die for characters that made you feel every emotion and fall so deeply in love with them.

My new favorite men are the Montgomery's! A very good and must read! This was a great series, I couldn't put it down. I read one after the other. It has a sexy billionaire football player with a hot FBI agent. Great series, even better that it's all in one book! I've read deeper books, but it's great to have a series you can just lose yourself in.
Did not load all the books. Loved the basics of the story. Violet drove me up the wall and I was glad that he didn't put up with her for long after she started. Loved that Heath seems down to earth. Cant wait to see where this story goes. Meeting the FBI agent. I liked this book better than the first just because I prefer Sydney over Violet. Loved Sydney and Heath together. I voluntarily read this ARC book. I love it it was a great read. One day for me. Will Sydney be able to solve the case? Will her et Heath have a HEA?
It was great the other characters I enjoyed seeing Jackson Montgomery. It's a definite recommend Grab it now. See all 12 reviews. Most recent customer reviews. Published 1 year ago.
